Our Parks
 
Manchester has several parks each offering different themes and locations and are for the public to use.  To check on availability of shelters and facilities for reunions, church / business picnics, and events call 598-3456.

Bert T. Combs City Park:   
[In November the Manchester City Council voted to change the name of the
Beech Creek Recreational Center to Bert T. Combs City Park] 


Construction of RV/Campsite at the new Bert T. Combs City Park is underway as of March 1st.
The park construction should be finished in late June and open in early July.  Drive down
and check it out.  We will be posting pictures and a drawing of the lay-out in the next few days.
 The R/V Campsite is looking to open Memorial Day Weekend 2008.


The park will under go a series of changes and become one the regions premier parks.
Most notable will be the addition of full hook up of 70+ RV and camp sites.
Other improvements and enhancements include:
  Enhanced access to Bert T. Combs Lake.
  A canteen to service the campsites.
  Change to the swimming pool, tennis and basketball courts
  An equestrian trail is now under construction and will be open this summer.
  Nature and wildlife walking trails with unique signage to identify
    local flora and other points of interest.

Come and visit as the park opens in the spring of 2008 with lots of new changes. 
 
Town Branch Park: 
  Located on Town Branch Road next to Mt. View Heights:
  All kinds of apparatus to sprinkle and spray water for kids to enjoy outdoor water
    activities.  It will be finished and open in the spring of 2008.
  Skaters and skateboarders section adjacent to the sprinkler will be finished and open in the spring as well

Other enhancements have been recently added:

Rawlings and Stinson Park:
    New Crumb Rubber walking track.
    New play ground equipment.
    New Movie In The Park equipment purchased for upcoming summer

Martin L. King Park:

    Play ground equipment and Shelter improved.

Riverside Park:
    New char-grilling equipment and landscaping
    New trees in time for Arbor Day

Muddy Gap Roadside Park: 
    Picnic bench and facilities for roadside rest.


Manchester Parks are getting new enhancements and we will keep adding 
changes...  We are all about serving our citizens with the finest outdoor facilities
